The white stone entrance and long winding driveway make for an impressive start to your visit to Galgorm. The original building at the front of the Resort is a reminiscent of a countryside Manor, with the inside being warm and homely. As you walk past the front lobby you enter the newer part of the building, which gives way to the bedrooms and the Spa.
The focus in Galgorm is on comfort, whether it is by sitting in an old-school armchair indulging in some afternoon tea, or by lounging on a beanbag overlooking the River Maine in the Thermal Village.
The bedrooms in Galgorm are spacious and bright. Guests can opt for a river or country view and all rooms have a seating area. The welcome treats are a lovely added touch and the ever-essential Wi-Fi is free and fast.
All rooms have a separate bath and shower area and the brightly light mirrors make for an interesting design feature. Soft white bathrobes and slippers are also provided.
The star of the show in terms of Galgorm’s dining facilities is the River Room restaurant. The River Room is one of only four restaurants in Northern Ireland to have been awarded 3 AA rosettes for culinary experience. The atmosphere of the River Room is intimate and romantic as guests are enveloped into its hushed tones and dimed lighting.
The menu is changed daily and is created mostly from local produce. This restaurant is an excellent choice for a special occasion.
Galgorm prides itself on its Thermal Village, which includes multiple outdoor hot tubs, river tubs, a Jacuzzi pool, steam rooms, saunas, and a snow room. Guests are spoilt for choice! The Spa also offers treatments a range of treatments with their specialty being their 85-minute signature treatments.
Galgorm is a gorgeous spot for a weekend getaway. Guests can have a wonderful gourmet experience at the River Room Restaurant and the spa facilities are top notch. The only negative would be that Galgorm tends to get very busy on weekends with multiple wedding parties, so if you are looking for quiet spa experience it would be best to go mid-week. That aside, Galgorm is an easy contender for best spa hotel in Ireland.
